CHiME-2020 Virtual Workshop
Message sent 13th March, 2020
Due to growing concerns about COVID-19, CHiME-2020 will no longer take place as a physical workshop, but will instead be replaced by a fully virtual event. We were very excited to be holding CHiME in Barcelona, so it is disappointing to have to be making this announcement, but we will now work hard to make sure that the virtual event provides an innovative and engaging alternative.
We plan to hold the event on the originally planned date, May 4th. The workshop and CHiME-challenge submission and review process will also proceed as originally planned and according to the original schedule, i.e., with deadlines for standard workshop papers on 20th March, and for challenge papers on 10th April. Papers that are selected for the workshop will then be presented as pre-recorded videos broadcast live on a 'webinar' platform. The platform will be set up to allow attendees to interact with presenters between talks.
We are still working out details for the best way to manage the event and further announcements will be made in due course. The virtual workshop will have a registration process but we expect to be able to make it free or for a very reduced charge. We will be in contact with those people who had already registered for the workshop in Barcelona to arrange reimbursement of the registration fee.
Further announcements will be made on the website and via the CHiME forum. Please sign up to the forum to avoid missing information. https://chimechallenge.github.io/chime6/forum.html
